NOW AVAILABLE!
ATTENTION MEMBERS: Your first Body Scan is free, so call us today and book an appointment! It takes 10-15 minutes, and that includes some time to discuss your results after the scan.
The InBody looks beyond the number on the scale and
shows you what your body is really made of.
Mountain Fitness provides Big Bear residents with a power tool for analysis of the body, the InBody 230 Body Composition Analyzer. With this tool, we can accurately determine the amount of fat and lean mass in the body, so over time you can understand how your diet, lifestyle and exercise are influencing your body composition.
Why not just use body weight?
The ratio between muscle mass and body fat is more meaningful and important than body weight alone. Muscle is denser and weighs more than fat, so a lean, muscular person can weigh more than someone with a higher amount of body fat. Percent body fat, rather than weight, is a more accurate means of assessing degrees of obesity or degrees of fitness.
What does it cost?
Your first scan at Mountain Fitness Center is complementary, as we believe education is one of the most important components of a successful program. Follow up scans are $15, or you can purchase 5 scans for $50.
Results
The scanner prints out a results sheet with the following data, which we’ll review and explain after your scan: body weight, lean mass, fat mass, total water, dry lean mass, Body Mass Index (BMI), Percent Body Fat (PBF), Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), Segmental Lean Mass, and a weight control value that helps establish healthy weight loss goals.
