What it takes to be a Biggest Loser

Here’s a little Q&A about this year’s Biggest Loser program, answering some questions we’ve had at the front desk at the gym.

One of the main points of the program is to prepare you best for long term weight loss after the program ends. We actually explain the dietary program over the first three classes, breaking it down by theory and by meal, then help you stay on track throughout all nine weeks of the class with continued dietary coaching and a fun, engaging exercise program. This stuff is going to seriously change the way you look at your food.

Some highlights of this year’s program:

  • Boxing Drills
  • Team workouts
  • Relay Races
  • Weight lifting
  • “Challenge” workouts (most of these are secret until the day of that workout)
  • Shopping field trips
  • Eating Contests
  • One class day held at a local Big Bear restaurant to learn tips on eating out
  • Refrigerator raids (no joke)
  • And much more!

As for exercise, if you’re pretty fit or only have a few pounds to lose, you’ll fit in just fine, but know that we’ve designed everything for you folks who have 50 pounds or more you want to get rid of!

How to Register

The program runs from January 16th to March 16th and has 3 class times to choose from:
M W F @ 5pm
M W F @ 1pm
M Tu Th @ 7am

To register, you must come to Mountain Fitness Center, pay the $349 fee, fill out a few basic forms, and then just be ready to make it to the first class.

See you there!

Thanks Thomas! I’d love for you to come in and share your story. Any chance you can pull together a little photo album on a USB stick and use it as a slideshow, showing your kitchen, a shot of one or two of the healthy innovations you’ve come up, you cooking for your guests – just images to make the story very real for the Biggest Loser people – to use as a visual aid/outline for a 7 or 8 minute talk to the group? That would be incredible.

We’re spoken for as far as the restaurant experience goes, but I think you’ll have a few of our folks come try out the bistro after hearing your story and realizing you’re on their side when it comes to healthy eating!

    Hi Ted,
If an annual membership to the gym is purchased, is there a difference in the cost of the “Biggest Loser” program? Asking not for me but for a client and just general information.

    Happy New Year

    • teddevito says:

Yes, we have it setup as different packages right now. I can make you a deal, if you want both, to extend the duration of the membership to cover the period that you’re in the Biggest Loser program so that your membership fees won’t apply until March 17th, but you can come use the gym whenever you want to do extra cardio, weights and whatnot during the Biggest Loser program. Thanks Rusty!
