Rev Up Your Weight Loss

It’s big time business. Tummy tucks. Lap bands. Liposuction. People take their weight seriously. The funny part is that simply taking a different approach to the way you eat can accomplish the same goal. Only cheaper. And much, much healthier. Sure, getting the old tummy tucked might make you look thin for 6 months but eating is a lifestyle, meaning you make the changes and see results for the rest of your life.

That’s where Rev comes in.

The simple and most effective solution though is sometimes the hardest path to find…not so when it comes to eating.

This last September Rev issued a “Food Challenge” to the members of Mountain Fitness Center asking them to consider a new way of meal planning. The first point of the Challenge was to get people to think about both when they ate certain types of food as well as  what they ate. The second point was to eat fresh.

Sound simple? It is. And the best news. It works.

Check out what Rev, and some of his clients had to say about it.

I want to thank all of those who accepted the challenge, I was a little impressed with how many of you gave it a try. I was really impressed with how many of you stuck with it and figured out that it’s not a diet but the way should eat every day and that it’s not complicated or difficult. I want to share with you 3 stories from clients that accepted the challenge, in their words.
-Rev

1.Jen LaRue-The September Food Challenge introduced at Mountain Fitness was a success for me. I lost nine pounds over a month simply by having the heavier caloric and carb intake during the morning and noon hours. Night time I had a healthy salad filled with veggies and no carbs. Through implementing Rev’s easy changes the weight came off, I feel energized and not deprived. Thank you, Jennifer

2.Sharon Gibbs-Soooooo…Rev says “do you want to try the food challenge?” Hmmmm, a challenge – bring it on! Little did I know that by following Rev’s guidelines, I’d not only face obsticles, but I’d actually lose weight! Starting the food challenge on my birthday weekend presented my first obstacle. What do mean wine doesn’t count as a fruit? Starting my day out with a healthy filling breakfast is now part of my routine. My snacks have changed entirely…I keep cut up vegies, bell peppers in the refrig & love fixing a healthly fruit smoothie! Having lots of company and eating out also presents a challenge, but I’m now aware of my food choices. I love making a healthy salad with more than just lettuce & tomatoes! So even with lots of company, eating out & having a little wine, I lost 7 1/2 pounds! But most importantly, by participating in the food challenge for one month, it’s now just my daily routine!!!
Thanks Rev!!!!

3.Pola Durban-After taking the nutrition class at the gym and with the help of Rev and Toni I have completely changed my eating habits. I couldn’t have lost 15 pounds without their help and encouragement. As a matter of fact everyone at the gym has been very supportive to me. The healthy eating challenge by Rev is the way I eat now everyday. I eat breakfast within 1 hour of waking up (greek yogurt and fresh fruit), then at lunch, I eat most of my calories. Dinner time I eat a dinner plate size salad that I drizzle with dressing before i eat anything else. This fills me up and I only need something small after that. I can hear rev in my mind talking to me. he says “you can eat all the fruits and veggies that you want” and then he says “how sweet is that?” We all seem to have a basic knowledge of how we should eat but after you actually decide to make a difference in your eating and fitness and you feel the effects, you realize how important your body is and to respect it. Thank you Mountain Fitness for waking me up and helping me change my life. Guess what? I am never hungry because i’m not on a diet!

We hope these stories inspire you to think about food in a more positive way and help you understand that you can make healthy choices and still enjoy what you eat! With the holidays right around the corner this might be a good time to challenge your eating habits!
